I should be knee deep in book fair...

and Dr. Seuss hats, but instead I am at home in my jammies - SNOW DAY - yes in Georgia today we have a snow day - but of course it happens on a day I have been planning for weeks - the first day of my spring book fair. My annual teacher dress like a book character day (and contest - I have some great prizes!) and tonight our school was hosting it's 2nd annual literacy night - camp read a-lot where I had book fair open for parents, the PTA was having a silent auction of illustrator Michael White's prints and I was doing a program in conjunction with our music teacher - a camping sing-a-long-read-a-long - sigh- it was going to be FABULOUS.

I am sure we will *try* and reschedule literacy night, but my book fair cannot be extended and there is only ONE Read Across America Day day.

for those of you reading this up North - we had about 4-5" of snow yesterday but the roads are icy this morning and that is why the snow day - you can stop laughing now!

I should be a body guard to Cat in the Hat right now...passing out stickers and taking a ton of pictures.
Hopefully all will take place tomorrow but I feel your pain. We have 10 inches on the ground and it is snowing... again!
I cannot wait to move away from winter. Granted that won't be for many more years but I can dream... I hope all of your Dr Seuss plans still happen...

Hi Susan - my parents live in Northboro, MA and they just LAUGHED when they heard how much snow we had and that we STILL had a snow day today! I already talked to the Principal and we are going to re-schedule, but I was SO ready for today!

Kathy, That is not far from me at all. I am in Whitinsville but I work at an elementary school in Hopkinton. We are buried! But spring is coming.
I am glad everything will be rescheduled. I think I have managed to reschedule the Cat in the Hat and our green eggs and ham for tomorrow.
I also got my workout just cleaning the driveway! Good luck with your big day and I am sure you will be equally ready for tomorrow.

We're in NJ and they called a snow day last night at 8:00 PM! (never did that when I was a kid) Only had three or so inches. Ridiculous!

I am in New Jersey as well. We had 6 inches on the ground. My festivities are stretched out throughout the week so it wasn't too bad for me. Thank God Brandon Mull's visit wasn't canceled! His visit is definitely the highlight of the week. I am very interested in your literacy night and the camp sing a long. Being this is my first year as librarian, I am holding off on the literacy night until next year. Any information you could share about running the night and other activities would be great.
